Smarter Ways to Clean Your Home

House cleaning is always hard work, and only a few of us can say they love cleaning their homes.  However, if you work smart, you will not only achieve your target, but will also do it without feeling exhausted.

Sometimes, it is the little things we do and the little secrets we know that make a difference. For instance, should you dust or vacuum first? Should you clean the bathroom before the kitchen or vice versa?

In this simple guide, we discuss some of the smart ways you can use to clean your house. Read on to find out everything you need to know.

  • Plan before you execute

Planning is always critical for any work, and house cleaning is no exception. Just like a professional residential cleaning company would do, take time to look at your home and come up with a plan of how and when you need to do cleaning.

Make sure your plan is extensive and outlines everything you will need to accomplish the task.

Make a list of tools and cleaning supplies you will need, rooms that need cleaning and other essential things you may require along the way. Once you have your plan in place, go through it again just to be sure you haven’t forgotten anything.

  • Consider cleaning the whole house, not one room at a time

Cleaning is much more efficient and easy if you choose one task at a time and perform it in every room in the house other than cleaning one room at a time.

For instance, if you decide to vacuum, make sure you are vacuuming the entire house instead of vacuuming only one room. Do the same thing with dusting and mopping.

Choosing one task and implementing it in all rooms will prevent you from feeling like you are in an endless house cleaning cycle.

  • Always clean from top to bottom

One of the smartest and easiest ways to clean your home is by sticking to the top-to-bottom strategy. This technique requires you to clean your house from the highest point to the lowest point to avoid repeating tasks.

If you hire professionals from a residential cleaning company, you will notice that this is what they do to achieve great results.

For instance, if you are dusting, make sure you dust the ceiling first. Otherwise, if you choose to mop the floor first, you may be forced to clean it again after dusting the ceiling and higher shelves which is a waste of time and energy.

  • Focus on sinks, tubs, and toilets

Spray a cleaning agent on your bathroom sinks, toilets, tubs, kitchen sinks and wash them gently.  Make sure you also pay attention to kitchen cabinets, doorknobs, telephones, TV remotes, countertops and other appliances in your home.

Clean and disinfect these surfaces, particularly those that your loved ones touch frequently. Also, don’t forget to clean your microwave. While in the kitchen, clean the floor, and make sure everything is in the right place.

Furthermore, empty your trash bins into your garbage bags and get the trash out of your house. These are simple tasks that shouldn’t consume much of your time if you remain focused.
