A challenge many product designers face is not having the ability to make in-house management staff or clients realize how the product will look and feel. Even though there are advancements in CAD technology, explaining design aspects through a digital model still isn’t easy. By using rapid prototyping services, you can get an accurate and fast way to realize the potential of a product.

Realize the Design Concepts: Rapid prototyping services will allow designers to realize the design concepts beyond just a virtual visualization. This can help clients with the feel and look of the design, rather than just assuming when looking at a CAD model. This will also help designers carry forward with the idea prior to finalizing. It will provide a proof of concept for the end client that wants a more realistic product design instead of just visualizing the product design on a screen.

Incorporate Changes Instantly: Even with a physical model in hand, it’s still possible to incorporate changes quickly. You want to be able to incorporate changes quickly because a new design is going to be changing constantly. You want to ask for feedback from customers during the design phase. Prior to finalizing the design, there will be several different iterations. With each one, the design process will improve and build confidence for the end consumer and the designer.

Save Time and Money: With other manufacturing the time and costs it takes to develop molds, patterns, and special tools can be eliminated with rapid prototyping. Unlike conventional prototyping methods, the waste produced is limited. Rapid prototyping will only print the material that is needed to build the object. The less waste that is produced and the less time it’s going to take means the less money it can cost. The time and money can be used for other important aspects of the business, including warehousing and marketing.

Customized Designs: One of the best benefits of rapid prototyping is the ability to develop customized products per an individual requirement. It doesn’t require any special processes or tools to implement changes in the product. For a manufacturer, this is important for offering a connected experience for the customer with the product they are purchasing.

Minimize Design Flaws: This way of manufacturing gives the ability to identify flaws in the design prior to any mass production. The materials that are available for rapid prototyping resemble the strength and properties of the actual product, which makes it easier to perform any tests early on in theprocess. Usability issues can be identified early to avoid problems that could occur later during manufacturing. Even with a highly skilled design team, there are still bound to be some changes needed. There could be flaws in the design that no one would have imagined.
