    As an island inhabited by many Hindus, Bali naturally has lots of temples. Besides being used for worship and holding various religious ceremonies, various temples in Bali have also become tourist destinations that are quite attractive. Below will be a review of interesting temples in Bali that are worth a visit.

    • Pura Tanah Lot

    Tanah Lot Temple is the most famous temple very synonymous with Bali. Being one of the favorite tourist destinations, Tanah Lot Temple in Bali is magnificently built on a rock in an offshore area only to be visited during low tide. When the tide is high, the path to get to the temple will be covered with seawater so that this temple is like being in the middle of the ocean. The best time to visit temples in Bali is in the afternoon. When the tide is rising, and the sun is setting, Tanah Lot Temple will look very exotic.

    • Pura Uluwatu

    According to the beliefs of Hindus in Bali, Pura Taman Ayun is considered a buffer for the nine cardinal directions. This Balinese temple in Pecatu Village has amazing views because of its very strategic location and has a beautiful panorama that spoils the eyes.

    • Pura Agung Besakih

    Located in Besakih Village, Karang Asem, Pura Agung Besakih is the largest temple in Bali and Indonesia. This temple complex consists of one Penataran Temple (temple center) which consists of 18 companion temples. Pura Agung Besakih has a row of stairs leading to the Penataran Temple Gate. This temple in Bali is very famous for its splendor.

    • Pura Taman Ayun

    If you are in the Mengwi area, don’t forget to stop by Pura Taman Ayun. This temple is considered sacred because it was built as a form of respect for the spirits of the ancestors of the Kings of the Mengwi Kingdom. The attractions of Pura Taman Ayun include its unique architecture, the beauty of the surrounding environment, and the refreshing atmosphere accompanied by the sounds of insects and birds that live wild around this temple area.

    • Pura Ulun Danu Beratan 

    As the name implies, Pura Ulun Danu Beratan is located on the shores of Lake Beratan. If you are aware of it, this Hindu temple had decorated the 50,000 rupiah notes in ancient times.Not only enjoying the architectural beauty of Pura Ulun Danu Beratan, but the location of Lake Beratan itself has also been managed as a tourist destination. This temple in Bali is rightly one of the tourist destinations while on the Island of the Gods.

    • Pura Tirta Empul Tampak Siring

    Tirta Empul means holy spring. When you come to this place you will find natural springs. This natural spring then flows into a bath in the temple area. This bath is the main attraction of Tirta Empul Temple. This spring is believed to be holy water for Balinese Hindus can bring purity, tranquility, and good luck.

     

    • Pura Goa Lawah Klungkung 

    Unlike other temples in Bali, Goa Lawah Temple is unique because it was built right in front of the Goa area, a bat’s nest. In addition, the Bali Temple, which is located in the Pesinggahan Village, is located close to the Black Sand Beach is also a tourist destination in Bali that is no less interesting.

    • Pura Saraswati 

    Pura Saraswati was built to worship Goddess Saraswati who is the embodiment of science and art. Located in the Ubud area, this Balinese temple is famous for its beautiful water garden with lotus flowers.
