Should You Be Wary of Your Date?

Whether dating various people for a while or you only recently getting back to dating, be careful.

That said are there any red flags about a date you are picking up on?

Dating is going to be both fun and challenging at times. As such, you need to be on your toes to make sure you are with the right person.

So, should you be wary of your date?

Looking for Signs of Trouble

In being cautious and yet not over-reacting, here are some tips when you are out there in the dating world:

  1. Knowing others – Whether a prospective date or one you recently met or dated, be educated. With this in mind, doing some research is definitely worth your time. One option would be to turn to the Internet and proceed with a free background check. Such a check can increase your chances of getting good info about another person. From any criminal record to financial issues; you want to know who you might be getting involved with. Remember, this is someone you could end up with a long amount of time if things work out. As such, knowing all you can about them early on can set the stage for success or letting you know it is time to move on.
  2. Watching out for your safety – It is imperative that you never put your safety in jeopardy. This is especially true when meeting someone early on. As an example, do not go and meet someone on a first date in a non-public setting. All this does is increases the chances of something bad happening. Even if the person seems so trusting, be smart. By meeting them in a public venue, you lower the odds of something bad happening to you. If the person balks at wanting to meet in a public venue, move onto to someone else.
  3. Is money an issue? – While the person having a criminal record should be of most interest, do not brush off finances. For instance, does the person have trouble paying their bills? While many go through tough stretches in life, you do not want to be with someone who is in essence a freeloader. Whether male or female, you also should not be expected to pay for every date you go out on with the other person. If this becomes a pattern, either discuss it with the other person or it is time to move along.
  4. Actions do matter – Last, keep abreast of their actions. From what they do to what they say when around you, look for anything that would be a sizable red flag. Yes, people slip up and make mistakes on occasion. That said negative behavior in both a physical and verbal standpoint is not something you want to be a part of.

If you are out there in the dating world and sense someone may not be truthful with you, when will you decide to move on?

Remember, your personal safety and happiness should never be taken for granted.
